Belle & Sebastian "I'm A Cuckoo"
Andy was talking about Thin Lizzy the other day and I was telling him about this song. It is such a nod that the lyrics even make reference: "I'd rather be in Tokyo/ Rather listen to Thin Lizzy-oh". This is probably my favorite thing they've done since the first record. So catchy and rocking. I remember a kid in my high school drafting class cranking "Boys Are Back In Town". His girlfriend had just broken up with him so his boyz were coming down from the hills to party. They showed her!

They teach drafting in high school? This sounds like Thin Lizzy? I guess I haven't listened to anything besides Jailbreak...I like this song fine though. Do they have the horns when they play live? I imagine that would sound good.
Again, great work on getting this "blog" up and running. We'll see how it goes...will it have a different fate than Aggies y Wildcats?
It was pre-CAD so Drafting was all about mechanical pencils, t-squares, vellum, and those little bags of eraser dust. Kind of like a shop class for nerds and preps. And largely responsible for my legible hand writing.
I am not a big Thin Lizzy guy. Do I remember correctly that Malkmus is? Cuckoo doesn't rock like a Jailbreak, but the guitar melody and rhythm always remind me of their sound.
